Dear Wamogo Families,

It is with great enthusiasm that I share with you the plan for our facilitated distance learning program.  I have included three links for you to review.  First is our written Facilitated Distance Learning document which outlines this plan in great detail. The second document is a video of me outlining the key elements of this plan, my apologies in advance as this was my first experience with this recording app.  The last attachment is the google slides presentation I used in the video.

Today, our faculty and staff have begun two days of professional development sessions in order to become better equipped to face the challenges of the distance learning environment.  As you may have seen on social media, many teachers have already begun to get fun and creative with their new technology skills.

We will begin this journey on Monday, March 30 and it will be an A day.  Please ensure your student is aware that the facilitated distance learning program will begin on Monday and that their attendance is required.  Monday will also mark the beginning of quarter 4. It is my hope and expectation that students will be off to a great start in quarter 4 as they ease into this new learning environment.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and support!

Sincerely,

Sabin Loveland

Principal

WAMOGO Regional High School

Wamogo serves students from Warren, Morris, and Goshen Connecticut. Children from seven additional towns may apply to our national award-winning Agri-science program. Preparing students for learning, living, and achieving in the 21st Century is the mission of our school. In addition to our comprehensive course of study, students in Agri-science choose courses in mechanics, natural resources, animal science and horticulture.

We believe students should be good digital citizens, have strong communication skills, think critically, problem solve and collaborate with others.  Our STEM program allows students to demonstrate high levels of engagement and participation while building skills applicable in the classroom and beyond. Students are required to have a digital device; they may bring their own or receive one from school. The integration of technology in the classroom enhances the learning opportunities for our students.  Teachers individualize experiences and help meet the needs of all students while maintaining rigorous standards of achievement.
