COLD & FLU SEASON INFORMATION
Students need to be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication before returning to school.
If your child has a fever 100.5 or higher, diarrhea, or is vomiting they need to remain home until they are symptom free without the use of fever reducing medication for 24 hours.
If
a child tests positive for streptococcal infection, he/she must remain
out of school for 24 hours after the start of antibiotics.
Students who drive to school and become ill during the day should be picked up by their parent/guardian.
If
a student is sent home with a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea they are
not expected to be in school the next day. However, parents need to call the main office at 860-567-7410 ext. 118 to report the absence. If there is a diagnosis that the nurse should be aware of, please call 860-567-7429. Students must be symptom
free for 24 hours.

Sports Physicals: Students who wish to participate in sports MUST have a current physical exam (within the past 13 months) to participate. There are NO exceptions to this rule. The physical MUST
be on file in the Health Office, coaches cannot accept physicals.
Students will not be allowed to play until the physical is received in
the Health Office.
7th & 10th Grade Physicals: Physicals completed on the State of CT "Blue Form" are mandatory for all students entering grades 7 & 10.
MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION: Students
are not allowed to carry or take medication at school unless the
"Authorization for the Administration for Medication" form is complete and
on file in the Health Office. Inhalers and Epi-Pens are the only
medications that may be carried after completing the appropriate forms.
Carrying any medication not authorized is subject to disciplinary
action.
