Please join me in congratulating Jackie Weik '19 for yet more success in her photography.

Her photograph “Resistance” was accepted into the Emerging Young Artists 2019 Juried Exhibition at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.  The jurors chose 80 of 350 submissions to hang in the show. At the closing reception and awards ceremony, Jackie’s photograph was awarded an Honorable Mention.

In a recent Photo District News contest, Jackie submitted a portfolio of six portraits and was a Grand Prize winner in the High School category in their student photography competition for Spring 2019.  Her work will be on the pages of PDN’s most recently released issue, and she will receive a Nikon Z7 mirrorless DSLR camera worth over $4000.  She will also receive $150 credit from B&H Photo, and a portfolio review with a professional photographer.

Jackie’s prior photographic successes include a Gold Key at the 2019 and 2018 Connecticut Regional Scholastic Art Awards, and a National Gold Medal at Scholastic Art Awards in 2018. In addition, her photograph “Resistance” was the top winner in the grades 9-12 category in the fall 2018 ASAP Celebration of Young Photographers Competition.
